Meta wrote in their statement

“On March 7th, a new EU law, the Digital Markets Act (DMA), comes into force. One of its requirements is that designated messaging services must let third-party messaging services become interoperable, provided the third-party meets a series of eligibility, including technical and security requirements”.

As usual in the beginning, the changes affect and irritate the consumer that’s why the Government worldwide is watching the reaction of consumers probably these changes are only for now. But we listen the act has passed and Meta suggests it is ready to act on the first retirement.

The first requirements of Meta is:

“In year one, the requirement is for 1:1 text messaging between individual users and the sharing of images, voice messages, videos, and other attached files between individual end users. In the future, requirements expand to group functionality and calling.”

The statement of Meta explains that it will ask a third party before entering and joining. Only developers are allowed to use another protocol. They can demonstrate it offers the same security guarantees as Signal.

After the statement of matter, the analysis of the review of the consumer was positive.
