Leonid Volkov was beaten with a hammer in an unprecedented violent attack outside of his house

Meduza told Leonid Volkov on Tuesday evening, March 12. The latter, Leonardo Volkov, told Meduza that Navolani’s members were in danger.  He was attacked in a van near his home.

The attackers hit his car with a hammer, smashed the car window, and sprayed tear gas in his eyes. He fought on foot to save himself. They tried, but they hit him on the legs and also injured his head.

Navolani’s press secretary, Yarmesh, said he is now home, and the police and ambulance have gone to his house. Navolani’s team is trying to conduct a thorough security assessment but refuses to divulge details.

According to the police, the search for the attack and the suspect is still ongoing. The attack and the person have not been identified.

Volkov headed Navolani’s anti-corruption foundation, which Russia designated as an extremist organization in March 2023 and heavily sanctioned.

In Russia, the trials of Volkov continued. Lithuania refused to extradite Nevlovkov to Russian custody.

Leonid Volkov posted on Telegram on Wednesday morning after being discharged from the hospital, saying, “We will continue our determination, we will work, we will not give up,” adding that he had broken his arm during the fight.  He injured his leg 15 times.

The attack caused chaos in the Lithuanian government.

Leonid Volkov’s wife also shared photos of her husband’s injuries on social media, showing one of his eyes completely black, red marks on his forehead, and bleeding from his legs, a Lithuanian police spokesman said.  Ramos Matonis confirmed to ASP that a Russian citizen was attacked at 10 A.M. local time in the capital near his home.
